Art and the Artist – Page 1
"The earth was dry, cracked, and thirsty. Little Yusuf looked at the pale plants with worry. The sky hadn't shed a single tear for weeks. Then, a tiny, cool drop fell right on the tip of his nose. Yusuf looked up in surprise."

"One drop became ten drops, then thousands. The rain was finally falling! Yusuf ran with joy to his grandfather, Arif Dede, who was sitting on the porch. "Grandpa!" he called out. "How did these mindless clouds know we needed water?""

"Arif Dede smiled lovingly at his grandson. "Oh, my Yusuf," he said in a gentle voice. "The clouds have no minds or hearts. They are sent by a Creator of infinite mercy, who knows what the earth and the living things upon it need. This is not a coincidence; it is a gift.""

"Arif Dede took Yusuf's hand, and they began to walk towards the fields. He pointed to the rain-soaked earth. "Look," he said. "See how the earth drinks the water. Do you think the soil decides to grow our food out of compassion for us?""

"Yusuf thought for a moment. "No," he said. "The soil is just soil." Arif Dede nodded. "That's right. The soil is like a pot. The one who plants the seeds, sends the water, and grows our sustenance for us is the Artist, the owner of the pot.""

"They continued their walk and came to a hillside overlooking the sea. Arif Dede pointed to the vast ocean. "Look, Yusuf. This great sea stays in its place even as the world turns. It doesn't overflow, it doesn't spill, it doesn't swallow the land.""

""Who holds it in its place?" Yusuf asked with curiosity. Arif Dede smiled. "The one who owns the lands and the seas. It is He who placed the sun in its orbit, who created everything with a measure.""

"On their way back, a ladybug landed on Yusuf's finger. "Look at the perfection of the spots on this tiny insect's wings," said Arif Dede. "From this tiny bug to the giant stars in the sky, everything is in a perfect order.""

""This perfect order cannot be a coincidence," Arif Dede continued. "Nature, at most, can be a beautiful embroidery, but it cannot be the Embroiderer. It is a work of art, but it cannot be the Artist. Every work of art points to the existence of an artist.""

"Yusuf looked at the world around him; the wet earth, the distant sea, the darkening sky... And he understood. Everything he saw was a message of love from the one Artist, the Creator of all things. His heart filled with a deep sense of peace and gratitude."
